Pakistan's Important Message After Meeting with Iran's President Regarding the War

Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's Interior Minister, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of his recent visit to Tehran and his meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, in a message posted on the social media platform "X."

Naqvi wrote in his message: "Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and I had a very positive and constructive meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

He added: "Our discussions focused on the Iran-US conflict, tensions in the Middle East, the way forward, and the steps both sides need to take to revive the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, ultimately leading to a comprehensive resolution of the conflict."

Pakistan's Interior Minister stated that Pezeshkian raised his views and concerns regarding regional developments and the ongoing conflict during this meeting.

Naqvi further noted the outcomes of the negotiations, saying: "Significant progress was achieved, and this meeting concluded in a very positive atmosphere."

He expressed hope that the dialogue process undertaken would pave the way for further advancements and the establishment of lasting peace in the region.

The Interior Minister's remarks come at a time when the US government, alongside Islamabad's diplomatic efforts, has intensified economic pressure on Iran.

Washington, as part of this approach, has called on countries that continue to maintain economic relations with Iran to halt cooperation with Tehran, threatening them with secondary sanctions if they persist in such ties.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has sought in recent weeks to facilitate de-escalation and achieve a diplomatic solution to the Iran-US conflict through dialogue with both Tehran and Washington.

Naqvi's statements regarding "significant progress" in talks with Pezeshkian come as Islamabad had previously emphasized the necessity of a diplomatic resolution to the crisis and preventing the spread of conflict in the region.
